OUTREACH

The Infant and Toddler Program ministers to pregnant women and families with young children. We have traditional families, single mothers, single fathers, aunts, brothers, sisters, and grandparents who are the primary caregivers of children.

Our goal is to help provide these families with the items they need to keep the children safe and healthy. Through donations from the community, we give away, free-of-charge, cribs, high chairs, car seats, clothes, diapers, wipes, hygiene supplies, bassinets, strollers, tubs, and towels. If the family needs it, we get it. Some big items must be “earned” by participating in other community programs, school, or working. Monetary donations enable us to buy whatever else is needed. Along with the physical things, we provide referrals to other resources, such as budgeting and parenting classes, job readiness and adult education.

With the referrals we give, we also get referrals.  We have worked with the hospitals in Morgantown, Right From the Start, Early Head Start, WIC, DHHR, other pantries, churches, and informal networks of families and friends.

Continuing with Outreach, we have offered blood pressure screenings, blood sugar screenings, dental hygiene referrals, flu shot clinic, car seat fittings, Christmas gift program, Thanksgiving baskets, and assistance with utilities, medication, or rent.  We do referrals for anyone who needs assistance with services we do not provide.
