Volunteer
Opportunities
Altar Linens
Pick up and wash altar linens as needed. (One month out
of the year)
Altar Servers
Parish members 4th grade and older. Assist celebrant at
weekend liturgies and holy days. Periodic training. Servers
are scheduled on a rotating basis.
ChildCare
Adults to assist a child care worker in caring for toddlers
during the 11:00 am Liturgy.
Children's Liturgy of the Word
Adults who help children understand the Sunday readings
during the11:00 am Sunday Liturgy.
Social Activities Committee
Volunteers to help with planning and setting up various
dinners and activities throughout the year.
Communion to Sick
Distribution of Holy Communion to parishioners who are
homebound, hospitalized or in nursing homes.
Eucharistic Ministers
Men, women and teens who are commissioned to assist
in the distribution of Holy Communion at weekend liturgies.
Individuals are scheduled on a rotating basis and training
is provided.
Funeral Luncheons
Groups of parishioners who prepare, cook, serve, and
clean up for a funeral luncheon. Volunteers are also needed
to make desserts or casseroles for these meals.
Lectors
Men, women, and youth who prepare and proclaim the Word
of God at weekend litrugies. Lectors scheduled on a rotating
basis.
Religious Education Teachers
Religious Education for our parish students attending
public school, on Sundays during the school year. Needed:
Teachers (must be over 18) and Helpers.
Soup Ministry
Volunteers put together a meal and deliver
to parishioners in times of need.
Ushers
Men and women who greet and seat parishioners and guests,
take up the weekly offering, and distribute the weekly church
bulletin. Ushers are scheduled regularly and each weekend
Eucharist is led by a head usher(ette).
Youth Ministry
Adults are needed to help with the meetings, supervise
service projects, organize and chaperone entertainment events
and activities.
RCIA Team
Join a team of adults in helping a group through the process
of becoming Catholic.
Prayer Network Ministry
A phone network that receives requests for prayer.
Rosary Group
Recitation of the rosary at 7:30am on Tuesdays.
Liturgical Environment
Decorating the Worship space with appropriate symbols
at identifiable times of the liturgical year.
Music
Ministry
Cantors
Talented vocal musicians: men, women and teens with
a leadership presence during liturgies. May lead song with
or without accompanying choirs. Scheduled monthly with rehearsal
tape provided.
Choir
Singers who like traditional as well as contemporary
music. The choir sings at least twice a month.
Handbell Choir
Unique liturgical music ensemble. Open to Junior High
School students and adults. The handbell choir rings once
per month.
Funeral
Choir
Comprised of those who minister to the bereaved at funerals
as needed.
Children Choir
For children up to 13 years of age. It is preferred that
the children are of reading age.
Instrumentalists
The instrumentalists in the parish can play as little or as
much as desired. We have a particular need for piano accompanists,
guitarists, Bass Guitar, and c-instrument players. We will
find a place for any instrument to play. Instrumentalist can
play within an ensemble or as a soloist.
